Wishing you and your family a happy holiday season! I wanted to get some pictures posted from our last week at school. As many of you probably heard, during the holiday season we have a special guest in our room, a gingerbread man named "Gingy." This special guest brings us different variations of the original Gingerbread Man and we compare and contrast the new book to the original. We were able to read about "Gingy's" younger wiser sister, his pirate friends, a gingerbread hunt with animal crackers and several fun characters.
When we got to school on Friday, our dear Gingy had left us with a new book "The Gingerbread Man Loose in the School" and a note explaining that he too was lose in the school and we would need to follow the clues to find him. The class had an absolute blast trying to catch him in the act of running through the hallways. The clues took us to the library, the office to visit the secretaries, the Principal's office, lunch room and back to our room where we found him playing in the indoor recess toys.
Friday afternoon had its excitement as well as we attended the TES sing-a-long. It was fun to see all of the students wearing their favorite holiday hat and singing carols together. We also had a surprise visit from Santa Claus in the afternoon and he even brought us a new book that we get to keep at home! I am so proud of the class and the progress they have already made this year. Enjoy your extra long break with your families and Miss McCandless will see all of you in the New Year!!
Happy Holidays to you and your family!!
